For the fourth year in a row, the town of Bakersfield will be bustling with automotive activities, including classic cars, antiques, and newer models on the Saturday before Labor Day, all in the spirit of scholarship.

The Dawson Perley Memorial Car Show will be held Saturday, September 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Brigham Academy, 82 Academy Lane, in Bakersfield. Proceeds benefit the Dawson Perley Memorial Scholarship Fund, which distributed $2,000 in scholarships to local high school graduates in June. Perley, a member of the Enosburg Falls High School Class of 2018, died unexpectedly in an ATV crash in 2015.

Judging categories include top 10; people’s choice; best Chevy, Mopar, Ford, and non-big 3; as well as the Dawson Perley and Samuel Gates Memorial Awards.

Food will be available for purchase at the event, and a 50-50 raffle and cornhole tournament will parallel the car show. There is a $15 registration fee for cars and a $15 registration fee per team for the cornhole tournament. Admission to the event itself is free.
