Helen Day Art Center is proud to announce the opening of The Festival of Trees & Light and Members’ Art Show and Sale Friday, December 6th from 6:00- 8:00pm.

Coats, Hats and Mittens, Warmth for Neighbors in Need – The Giving Tree at Helen Day Art

On Friday, December 6th, Helen Day Art Center will open the 2013 Festival of Trees & Light, a celebration of the holiday season. The Giving Tree is an opportunity for members of the community to donate outerwear for neighbors in need. Helen Day is collaborating with Lamoille Family Center to distribute contributions. We live in challenging times and the weather is getting colder, young friends and adults will need coats, hats, mittens, and scarves. The Giving Tree is an inspiration toward generosity with neighbors.

The opening reception is a Stowe Tradition that kicks off the holiday season and welcomes everyone to a free event.

The Festival of Trees & Light will feature ten holiday trees decorated by members of the community and Menorahs on display from members of the Jewish Community of Greater Stowe (JCOGS). The opening reception is a deep seated tradition that kicks off the season with carols by the Green Mountain Choraleers, a festive spread of hors d’oeuvres provided by the community, local restaurants and members of the Art Center. All are welcome.

The Members’ Art Show & Sale features a record breaking exhibition this year with over 180 pieces of artwork from more than 100 artist members. Most of the artwork is for sale. Make a gift of original artwork to a loved one this year and support a local artist! This year you can take your purchase home the same day that you purchase it. Deck the halls indeed!

Family Day is Saturday, December 14th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Helen Day Art Center: Creative holiday fun for families. All are welcome for a season kickoff afternoon of activities which include hands-on gingerbread house making and decoration.
