Get ready for the sweetest time of year in the Green Mountain State.

Sugaring season will get underway in earnest at hundreds of farms and sugarhouses across Vermont over the next several weeks, and that means the delicious aroma of boiling sap won’t be too far behind. Coming off a banner year for maple syrup production in the United States in 2016, Vermont is responsible for more than 40 percent of all the country’s maple syrup production.

Visitors to Vermont during sugaring season will find a wide assortment of maple-based goods, from various grades of our legendary syrup, to sugar on snow, maple candy and even maple-infused craft beverages. Maple Open House Weekend will be on March 25 and 26. During Maple Open House Weekend, guests will be able to tour sugarhouses, watch as the maple syrup is produced and sample many of the maple products that Vermont is famous for.
